Example production brief — draft; the finished page requires an original annotated diagram.
Scenario definition
Use a fictional small restaurant with front counter, dining room, kitchen, manager station, office/back room, and secure network location. State transaction volume, service model, device assumptions, and known constraints without implying one layout fits every restaurant.
Required plan and diagram layers
- POS terminals/tablets, customer displays, receipt printers, kitchen printers/displays, scanners, drawers, and manager workstation.
- Data outlets, APs, switches, firewall/router, internet/backup service boundary, UPS, and provider-owned devices.
- Logical zones/VLAN ownership shown without live addresses or credentials.
- Cable IDs, switch ports, power responsibility, mounting, pathways, and service access.
Original value
Publish the annotated floor plan, logical network diagram, port/device schedule, failure-mode walkthrough, and assumptions table. Include a list of site-survey questions that would change the design.
Review
Qualified POS/network/security review is required; redact all real customer/provider data.
