Low-voltage design resource

VoIP Phone, VLAN, and PoE Deployment Plan

Coordinate endpoints, users, switch ports, VLAN responsibility, PoE budgets, cabling, internet dependencies, staging, cutover, and tests.

Editorial brief — draft. Explain what belongs on the floor plan, logical network map, endpoint schedule, and cutover checklist.

Required process

  1. Inventory users, extensions/numbers, locations, endpoint models, accessories, shared/common devices, and remote users.
  2. Assign outlet/cable, closet, switch/port, PoE assumption, voice/data VLAN ownership, provisioning method, and credential owner without exposing secrets.
  3. Check switch capacity, uplinks, WAN/internet, DHCP/DNS/time dependencies, QoS responsibility, UPS/resilience, and fallback.
  4. Plan device staging, number porting, emergency-location setup, cutover window, rollback, user communication, and training.
  5. Define call, failover, audio, feature, and acceptance tests; update the as-built record.

Original evidence

Create a redacted floor plan/topology pair, endpoint/port/PoE schedule, and cutover test matrix.
