Low-Voltage Bill of Materials Template

A reusable BOM structure that ties plan quantities to equipment, materials, assumptions, alternates, and proposal line items.

Editorial brief and downloadable-template specification — draft. Explain that a device count is only one input to a complete bill of materials.

Required template fields

  • Item ID, discipline, manufacturer, model/description, unit, quantity, source, and revision.
  • Associated plan symbols, device IDs, room/zone, cable type, pathway, rack/panel, and accessory dependencies.
  • Labor/installation category, waste/spare allowance, alternates, exclusions, customer-supplied items, and pricing status.
  • Approval, substitution, procurement, and delivery notes.

Original evidence

Provide an editable CSV/XLSX version, a populated small-project example, and a reconciliation table that exposes mismatches among plan count, schedule count, BOM quantity, and proposal quantity.

Review

Do not include invented prices or imply completeness without project review. Link to scope, schedule, pathway, and plan-to-proposal guidance.
