How to Coordinate a Multi-Discipline Low-Voltage Floor Plan

Build one coordinated drawing set that makes each system readable while exposing shared infrastructure, interfaces, clashes, and ownership.

Required method

  1. Establish one controlled baseline, level/room names, scale, orientation, revision/date, and issue purpose.
  2. Define discipline layers, symbols, colors/line types, prefixes, schedules, and sheet/view rules that remain usable in monochrome.
  3. Map shared rooms, racks, pathways, sleeves, power/UPS, network/PoE, ceiling zones, mounting surfaces, and access constraints.
  4. Maintain an interface/ownership register and run clash, capacity, service, security, and sequence reviews.
  5. Reconcile discipline counts, shared infrastructure, alternates, proposal scope, approved revision, and as-built change.
